I'M ALIVE!

Hello!

Last month I've had a looooot of work. I'm also preparing the filming of (not one, but) two short-films, so I'm quite busy looking for actors and locations and all. That's why I couldn't record a new show, as every spare minute I had I spent it to be with my partner or to sleep.

However, next week I hope I'll find some time to visit 24th edition of el Saló Internacional del Còmic de Barcelona, which could be translated as a Barcelona Comic-Con. Some of the authors that are going to be here this year are: Bill Sienkiewicz, David Lloyd, Brian Azzarello, Dave Gibbons, Mike McKone, Jill Thompson or Steven T. Seagle, just to name some of the American-published ones.

And I swear that some day I'll record my fifth show, when these interesting topics will be discussed: Harry Potter and the Half-Blood Prince, Phoenix: End Song, X-Men 3, Powers, Clone Wars cartoon, Veronica Mars, Angel, the JLA (I'm just reading JLA comics for the first time those days)... and many more!. I know that, apart from the X-Men movie, all the rest is old (or very old) stuff. But... Hei, this is my podcast! Let me review what I want!!

See you!

Podcast: JUST MY OPINION - SHOW #4

Hello!
I finally got to record another unnecessary JUST MY OPINION episode, and it makes four of them! If you dare, you can download it from here. It's about 25 minutes long, being the longer show by now.
Today's topics are...

1.- Non-comic authors that I think would write good comics.

2.- A hair-raising autobiographical moment: the day I discovered about comic creators.

3.- An anthropological approach (by me, who am not an anthropologist at all) to the big question: Why girls doesn't read super-hero comics?

4.- My opinion about the movie Serenity.

(It's Joss Whedon's, so you might expect that at least one of them is not going to make it to the end of the movie.)

Today's music by Japanese duo Puffy, also known as Puffy Ami-Yumi outside Japan and singers of the Teen Titans cartoon theme. I got some of their CDs and have become an absolute fan of them. I mean... they sing in Japanese!

TOO BUSY!

Being always too busy, and working so many hours every day, I'm starting to think that I should be rich by now. But I'm not, so I must be doing something wrong.
But besides me not being rich, the bad news are that I won't be recording another podcast until, maybe, the end of this month. Yes, I know that this will disappoint the billion of fans I've got, but what can I do? I don't even have time to finish Harry Potter and the Half-Blood Prince, that I started reading about two weeks ago!

Podcast: JUST MY OPINION - SHOW #3

Third show has come. It's a little less than 17 minutes long and can be downloaded from here.
My English and the tone of my voice are worse than ever, but in my defense I have to say that I've been very very busy these days. I just wanted to record something for the podcast because I thought it was going to relax me... but it didn't work.

I haven't had time to read comics, so only two topics today:

1.- Four brief movie reviews: Star Trek: Nemesis, The Hitchhiker's Guide to the Galaxy (based on the novel by Douglas Adams), Elektra (based on the Marvel character) and Constatine (based on the Hellblazer comic).

2.- My thoughts about Willow (from Buffy the Vampire Slayer) becoming a lesbian.

Music in today's show is by Norwegian band A-ha. Just skip my comments and listen to the music, because I think it's the best part of the show.

Podcast: JUST MY OPINION - SHOW #2

Wow! Show #2 is finally out! You can download it from here. It's 22 minutes long. My English is not better than in show #1, buy at least it isn't worst (I hope).
Topics I'm talking about:

1.- I bought the Machine Teen limited series for $1.75 and have read it.

2.- An odd fact about the word superhero.

3.- Some thoughts about Superman after having read first issue of All-Star Superman by Grant Morrison and Frank Quietly. Here I also talk about Smallville, and The Nail and Another Nail, both comics by master Alan Davis.

The music in today's show is by awesome Japanese composer Yoko Kanno and has been extracted from the wonderful Cowboy Bebop soundtrack. I may have put too much music in this show, but I love Yoko Kanno's music! And you should, too. Buy her CDs!
